Women's Health refers to comprehensive women’s health care as well as health issues that are unique to women, including:
- Pregnancy
- Menopause
- Conditions of the Female Organs
Be sure to get early and regular prenatal care to ensure you have a healthy pregnancy. You should also get recommended breast cancer, cervical cancer, and bone density screenings.
Our goal is to ensure the health and readiness of all women at every stage of life.
Women’s Health Services
Bassett ACH provides comprehensive women's health services through our providers and community partners. Services include, but are not limited to
Preventive Care:
Counseling and assisting patients in lifestyle choices including sexuality, substance use/abuse, nutrition, exercise, hormone replacement, self-monitoring of breasts, skin and genitals; monitoring of health parameters such as blood pressure and weight with appropriate health screenings in accordance with current preventive care guidelines.
Contraceptive Care:
Providing patients with
contraceptive care to meet their individual needs for every stage of life.
Outpatient Care:
Well-woman care such as cervical cancer screening, assessment and diagnosis of gynecological issues. Additionally, infertility counseling, low and high-risk care throughout pregnancy and family planning services and counseling on lifestyle choices such as hormone replacement, skin and genital care, and sexuality.
Inpatient Care:
Both major and minor gynecologic surgeries; postpartum care of hospitalized pregnant women; intrapartum care including electronic fetal monitoring, amniotomy, induction and augmentation of labor, spontaneous and assisted vaginal birth, cesarean section, repair of obstetric laceration, regional and local anesthesia.
Patient Education:
Activities include prenatal education classes for preparation for birth and parenting, breast feeding education and women’s health education offerings on an as needed basis

TRICARE Covered Services:
TRICARE covers well-woman exams annually for women under age 65 with no cost-share or copayment. TRICARE offers coverage for many women’s health services, including:
